Online pet stores
The hard part isn't finding an online pet store — there are dozens. The hard part is knowing which ones are worth ordering from: which actually have items in stock, which send exactly what you ordered, which don't leave a surprise in the box. We did that search for ourselves first, with Kali, and kept the stores we stuck with. This isn't a list of everything in Romania; it's a curated one. One more thing worth saying: each store runs sales at different times, so before a bigger order, check two or three from the list. The same product can have different prices in the same week.

How we chose these stores
Three things, in this order: nationwide delivery, real stock all year round — not just a big catalog on paper — and what people say once their package arrives. The last one matters most. That's why the order above isn't alphabetical or by store size.
With one exception: a general retailer that many people order from anyway sits higher than these criteria would have put it — because that's where they already have an account.
One example, because otherwise "chosen with care" means nothing. One of the stores above has by far the highest sales volume of the first six we picked — it would have been first on the list if we only looked at that number. It isn't, because it also collects the most complaints, and they repeat: a different product in the box than the one ordered, a different quantity, items close to their expiration date. It stays on the list because the selection and delivery really are good — but it's worth checking your package when it arrives, wherever you order from.
The list grows as we learn enough about a store. We add one when we have opinions about it, not when it comes asking.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there affiliate links on KaliMap?
Because the platform has to be paid for somehow, and this seemed the least intrusive way: no ads, no subscription, no data sold. The store pays the commission, not you. And as the amounts become meaningful, we intend for most of them to go back to the animal shelters and rescues listed on the platform.
Do I pay more if I use your links?
No. The price is exactly the same as if you typed the store's address into your browser yourself. The commission comes out of the store's margin; it isn't added to your price. If you ever find otherwise, write to us — it means something's wrong, and we want to know.
How do you choose the stores on the list?
Nationwide delivery, real stock all year round, and, above all, what people say once their package arrives. We don't list everything out there, and we don't add a store just because it asked us to. The section above explains why the order is what it is, including what we don't like about one of them.
What if I receive something other than what I ordered?
File the complaint with the store, not with us — the sales contract is with them. What few people mention up front: with an online order, you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason (Romanian law, OUG 34/2014), plus the legal guarantee of conformity if you received the wrong item or a defective one. There are exceptions — for example, sealed products whose seal has been broken, which can't be returned for hygiene reasons. Write to us too: repeated reports about the same store change the order here.
Do you recommend a particular food or brand?
No, and it wouldn't be right to. What your pet eats depends on age, breed, weight, and what your vet's tests show, not on what sells best. We stop at the store; choosing the product is between you and your vet.
Does this list change?
Yes. It'll grow as we get to check more stores. And it can shrink: if a store here starts collecting the same complaints over and over, it comes off the list. A link that earns a commission isn't reason enough to keep it.
